(correspondents: zhang yunzhong, feng hanxing) on november 15, the ninth national conference on management innovation of chemical industry enterprises was held in the great hall of the people, at which a list of management innovation achievements was released. high on the list was “construction of the managerial foundation of the innovation-driven system of hi-tech enterprises”, a project submitted by the liming research institute. the project won the first prize for industry-level management innovation achievements. yang maoliang, general manager and party secretary of the institute, was invited to the great hall of the people to accept the award.
jointly sponsored by china petroleum and chemical industry federation and china chemical enterprise management association, the conference is aimed at further implementing the party and state policies issued since the 18th cpc national congress and the speeches of general secretary xi jinping, releasing and promoting management innovation achievements, driving chemical industry management innovation, and improving quality and efficiency. the conference elected a total of 50 management innovation achievements, of which nine were awarded first prize, 28 won second prize, and 13 were honored with third prize. these achievements cover a wide range of areas including enterprise transformation & upgrading, reform of systems & mechanisms, business model innovation, integration and promotion of informatization & industrialization, as well as management innovation in such aspects as business strategy, human resources, performance, finance, marketing, technology research and development.
faced with a sluggish market and weak internal growth in recent years, the liming research institute adheres to the philosophy of “science-led industry, innovation-driven development”, stays problem-oriented, proactively adjusts business structure, optimizes operation mode, and advances management reform. after three years of practice in adverse conditions, the institute has rapidly improved its business performance, operation quality and economic benefits, laying a solid foundation for its sustainable development in the 13th five-year period and becoming a shining example for the industry and the institute-affiliated enterprises.
the national chemical industry management innovation achievement assessment committee believes that “construction of the managerial foundation of the innovation-driven system of hi-tech enterprises” is a summary and refinement of a series of management innovations of the liming research institute in recent years, which not only can effectively increase enterprises’ market competitiveness, reduce operational risks and strengthen their capability of innovation-driven, healthy and sustainable development, but is also very operational and therefore, worth learning and promoting in the national chemical industry.
the award is full affirmation of a series of management innovations implemented by the institute in recent years, and an industry-level first prize following the national-level second prize for management innovation won by the company in 2007, says yao qinglun, deputy party secretary of the institute and one of the main contributors to the achievement. according to relevant documents, the institute will be entitled to preferential policies, which will provide convenience for it to obtain state and industry support.
