li baoshan, head of the ministry of science and technology’s technology department, congratulated the rici on the successful work on the technology development program and praised it for not only improving on existing scientific research, but also for its progress in the industrialization process, and encouraged it to do more in the future.
after three years of hard work, the zhonghao chenguang research institute (rici) national science and technology support program for the 11th five-year plan was approved by a panel of experts from the state-owned assets supervision and administration commission, on november 24. this is a technology development program for the industrialization of special high-performance fluorine rubber and a subsidiary program of key technologies and project demonstrations for the industrialization of engineering plastics and special high molecular materials.
this was the first time for the rici to be accepted for a key national science and technology support program and an important move for its future projects and the industrialization of scientific r&d. from the beginning, this program had strong ministry of science and technology, chemchina, and china haohua chemical (group) corp support. the program was very important for rici’s leadership team and r&d personnel worked round the clock to achieve this success.
completing the research program also produced some pioneering work as well as more key technical personnel and r&d teams. they have applied for 16 patents on the technology and equipment involved (including 12 invention and two pct patents) and were granted six national patents (teo for inventions). the high fluorine rubber and pfoa substitute developed by the program passed a technical appraisal at the provincial level back in 2009 and were given a prize for scientific-technical progress in sichuan and one for scientific technical progress in the city of zigong. the high fluorine rubber was given the ministry of science and technology’s award for a key state pioneer product in 2009.
